Grandma has 136 descendants

CARDIFF, Wales, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- A Welsh woman celebrating her 85th birthday said she was proud to be surrounded by 126 of her 136 descendants.

Beryl O'Flynn of Cardiff, who has 10 children, 48 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren, said her birthday was extra special this year because so many family members attended the celebration, The Sun reported Monday.

"I'm delighted to be head of such a large family -- and most of them look like me," O'Flynn said. "It's amazing to think what me and my husband started all those years ago."

O'Flynn, who is expecting the birth of her sixth great-great-grandchild in the coming weeks, said she was happy to find she remembered everyone's name correctly.

"It was lovely to get everyone together for the first time -- we are one big happy family," she said.
