NAPLES, Fla., Jan. 5 (UPI) -- A Florida housesitter allegedly pawned more than $10,000 worth of items from the home he was supposed to be protecting, police said.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office said Brian Arbo, 54, of Naples, was arrested Tuesday and charged with grand theft, dealing in stolen property, fraud, failure to appear for a felony offense and driving with a suspended license after he was seen leaving Capital Pawn in Bonita Springs, the Fort Myers (Fla.) News Press reported Thursday.

Deputies said Arbo had been pawning items from the home he was housesitting over the course of several months and the owner told authorities Arbo did not receive permission to sell anything.
