Lena Pahlsson lost the ring she designed after leaving it on the kitchen counter of her Mora home during her annual Christmas baking session, Swedish newspaper, The Local reported Friday. Advertisement Lena and husband Ola searched behind appliances and beneath floor boards during a kitchen renovation to no avail, the paper said. Lena found the ring in October growing around a small carrot she nearly threw out because of its size. "Our daughter Anna was at home at the time and she heard an almighty scream from the garden," Ola told The Local. Ola said he thinks the ring may have ended up in the family's compostable food bin, which would have been spread over the vegetable patch. Another theory involves the family's sheep, which is sometimes fed kitchen scraps. "Maybe it had been eaten by the sheep and then ended up in the manure that we then spread over the vegetable patch," Ola said. The Pahlssons are keeping the ring in a safe place until they can have it re-sized to fit Lena's finger, which has grown larger since 1995.
