Police: Stolen Craigslist items re-posted

CARPENTERSVILLE, Ill., Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Police in Illinois said they arrested two men accused of stealing expensive items posted on Craigslist after they posted the items on the same site.

Authorities said Jonathan Miller, 18, and Myshawn Bonds, 19, both of Carpentersville, were charged with theft after they allegedly arranged to meet with people selling expensive items on Craigslist, then ran off with the items without paying, WSL-TV, Chicago, reported Friday.

Investigators said the men were arrested Monday after they posted a stolen watch for sale on Craigslist using the victim's original listing photo, the Arlington Heights Daily Herald reported. The victim arranged to purchase the item back and showed up for the buy with police in tow.

Miller was held in lieu of $30,000 bond and Bonds' bond was set at $15,000.
