BEIJING, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- A panel of 10 wine experts, half from France and half from China, picked Chinese wine over French beverages in a blind tasting in Beijing.

The judges picked four wines from China's northwestern Ningxia region over all five French wines from the Bordeaux area during the event, with a 2009 Lafite Saga from the Medoc area of Bordeaux taking the fifth place position, The Local reported Friday.
