NEW ORLEANS, Dec. 22 (UPI) -- A New Orleans musician who went to the bank with his cousin said the cousin's pit bull apparently spooked two men preparing for a robbery.

Glen David Andrews said he arrived at a Capital One branch around 8:50 a.m. Monday and his cousin's dog, Blue, began barking at a pair of men among the group waiting for the bank to open, The (New Orleans) Times-Picayune reported Thursday.

Andrews said one of the men, both wearing black hooded sweatshirts, addressed him.

"You better leave right now with that dog. We 'bout to rob the bank," the man allegedly told Andrews.

Andrews left with his cousin and the dog, and police said the two men then robbed the others waiting for the bank to open.

Police said there were two other incidents Monday morning outside of other banks within the span of about an hour. The incidents are believed to be related, police said.
