SAN DIEGO, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- San Diego Zoo officials said recent cold weather will not have an effect on its latest high-profile visitor, a snow leopard brought in to impregnate a female.

The zoo said it sent its own male snow leopard, which was rejected by female Anna, 8, to the Santa Barbara Zoo in exchange for male snow leopard Beauregard, 13, with the hope that he will have more luck wooing Anna, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday.

Zookeepers said Beauregard is unlikely to be displeased with recent cool temperatures, as his species comes from the cold regions of central Asia.
