Advertisement Bridgewater authorities said they had no definitive explanation for the early Wednesday lights, but they determined there was no cause for alarm and some theorized the lights were the result of transformer fires in the heavy rains, The (Newark) Star Ledger reported Thursday. Township Council President Howard Norgalis said he was aware of several electricity-related fires in the area around the time the lights were reported, between midnight and 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. "The sky lit up like pure daylight," said resident Joseph Wing, 87. "This was unlike anything I've ever seen." Police nab alleged day-care bunny thief APPLETON, Wis., Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Police in Wisconsin said they arrested a 20-year-old student accused of stealing a rabbit from a daycare facility inside a church. Advertisement Appleton police said Lawrence University student Theodore Benner of Chalfont, Pa., allegedly broke into the Memorial Presbyterian Church about two blocks from campus Nov. 13 and stole the rabbit, named Twinkle, from a room used for daycare during the week, WLUK-TV, Green Bay, Wis., reported Thursday. Police said officers responded to a medical call in Brenner's dorm four days after the burglary and an officer recognized a caged rabbit in Brenner's room as matching the description of the missing bunny. Sgt. Pat DeWall said the rabbit was returned to the daycare facility and Brenner was arrested on charges of burglary and possession of marijuana. He was released after posting a $2,500 cash bond. Man charged in campus undie thefts FORT MYERS, Fla., Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Police at Florida Gulf Coast University said they arrested a 36-year-old man accused of stealing around 35 pairs of women's underwear in two incidents. FGCU Police Chief Steven Moore said Cody Lee White of Cape Coral is believed to be behind a pair of October incidents, stealing 15 pairs of underwear in one incident and 20 pairs of underwear in the other, the Naples Daily News reported Thursday. The arrest report said White told officers he has a sexual fetish for women's underwear and would regularly steal the clothing items from campus laundry rooms. He said he would discard the items after a time. Advertisement Moore said underwear thefts are rare on campus, but there have been other laundry-related incidents. "We've had theft where one student has stolen clothing just because they wanted it, had somebody steal bed sheets or damage people's laundry, had somebody pour bleach in a washing machine because the clothes were left in there too long," Moore said. White was charged with misdemeanor counts of loitering and petty theft. He was released after posting $1,000 bond. Police: Man drove forklift into home APOPKA, Fla., Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Florida authorities said a man was arrested and charged with attempted murder after he allegedly drove a forklift into an occupied trailer home multiple times. The Orange County Sheriff's Office said John Miller was attempting to evict the tenants Tuesday afternoon from the mobile home he owns on West Ponkan Road in Apopka and drove the front-loading forklift into the home several times, despite being told by a female tenant there were still people inside, WKMG-TV, Orlando, reported Thursday. "He started plowing into the trailer while my sister, my two brothers, my son and my sister-in-law were inside," the tenant said. Miller was taken to the Orange County Jail on attempted-murder charges. Advertisement Deputies said no one was injured during the incident.
