Huron County Sheriff's Deputy Ryan Swartz said he responded to a report of an accident Friday night in Dwight Township and found the deer, which did not appear to be seriously injured, was stunned and refused to move from the roadway, the Detroit Free Press reported Tuesday. Advertisement Swartz, whose feat was captured on video, said he walked up to the doe after nearly 25 minutes and touched it, but the animal did not move. The deputy initially carried the deer to the side of the road, then moved it to the other side of the road because he felt it would be less likely to run back into traffic from the opposite side, Sheriff Kelly Hanson said. The deer appeared to recover and ran off after a few minutes.
