One of the men, the homeowner, told deputies his daughter had heard a sound coming from the garage and she went with him to investigate. They said Brian Snyder, a former friend of the homeowner's son, was standing inside the garage door and attacked them when they told him police had been called.

Deputies said the daughter struck Snyder on the head with "a wooden ornamental dog wood-shop project."

Snyder and the homeowner fought on the lawn until deputies arrived.

Deputies said they found Snyder had broken the side mirrors of a silver Buick Century and a dark-colored Pontiac Grand Prix in the garage.

Snyder, who was taken to a hospital to treat cuts on his head, was charged with two counts of assault, breaking and entering and vandalism.
