VICTORVILLE, Calif., Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Authorities in California said they were searching for bandits who took 20 boxes of frozen pigs' feet from a train during an emergency stop.

Union Pacific Railroad police said the train made an emergency stop Friday in Victorville for undisclosed reasons and thieves broke into a railcar and took the 20 boxes of frozen pigs' feet, the Victorville Daily Press reported Tuesday.

Railroad spokesman Aaron Hunt said the thieves likely did not know what was inside the railcar until they broke in. He said the boxes of pigs' feet were labeled.

Hunt said a man and a woman were spotted driving in the area in a pickup truck that investigators later found abandoned.
