FLORENCE, Ariz., Oct. 27 (UPI) -- An Arizona couple released video of their wedding, which took place outdoors and was interrupted by a sandstorm, to YouTube.
Gus Luna said he and bride, Jennifer, were in the midst of their Florence wedding Sept. 10 when a haboob -- a sandstorm named for the Arabic word for "wind" -- began and started growing in intensity as the ceremony progressed, KPHO-TV, Phoenix, reported Wednesday.
"We kind of thought we could get through the ceremony and the storm could hit during the reception, and if it broke loose, it broke loose. But it broke loose during the ceremony instead," Jennifer Luna said.
The couple told ABC News the wedding had included a sand ceremony, a symbolic pouring of sand from two bottles into a single bottle to represent their union.
