LA JOLLA, Calif., Oct. 1 (UPI) -- The FBI says it hasn't yet determined if Friday's stickup at a San Diego bank branch was the work of the elusive "Geezer Bandit."
A suspect described as 60-70 years old held up a bank inside a supermarket in the La Jolla area, which would match the modus operandi and description of the culprit who has pulled 14 such jobs around Southern California since 2009.
The Los Angeles Times said two of the Geezer Bandit's alleged past robberies took place in La Jolla; however, Friday's suspect was not wearing a hat as the Geezer has in the past.
The FBI continues to investigate.
There has been some speculation among investigators and the media that the Geezer Bandit is actually a younger man wearing a sophisticated disguise, possibly out of a Hollywood special-effects shop.
