ORANGE PARK, Fla., Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Authorities in Florida said a father attempted to hit his 17-year-old son with his vehicle and a crowbar because he took his sister to get a tattoo.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office said Michael Turner of Orange Park was angry at his son for taking Turner's daughter to get a tattoo so he twice tried to strike him with his car, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported Friday.

The arrest report said the teenager struck his father "in self-defense" through an open window of the vehicle, leading Turner to then swing at his son with a crowbar.

The boy's mother separated the pair before deputies arrived and arrested Turner, who deputies said sports several tattoos.

The report did not provide his daughter's age.
