Police: Man broke into home to do laundry

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla., Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Police in Florida said a man arrested on a burglary charge allegedly broke into a home so he could do his laundry.

The owner of the Bonita Springs home told Lee County sheriff's deputies he was sitting in his truck outside the vacant house Monday when he saw Robert James Luther III, 23, pry open the laundry room door and enter the domicile, the Naples News reported Thursday.

The owner said Luther may have known the previous tenants of the house but he did not have permission to enter the property.

Deputies said they arrived to find Luther and a woman doing laundry at the house.

The homeowner said Luther used his electricity and approximately 30 gallons of water.
