SOLON, Ohio, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- A Twinsburg, Ohio, woman found a wallet containing $4,600 but says she didn't think twice about turning it over to police.

Leah Kleppinger found the wallet in a shopping cart outside of a Solon, Ohio, mall on Thursday, The Cleveland Plain-Dealer reported.

"I looked inside the wallet and saw the license and credit cards," Kleppinger said. "I noticed the cash, but I didn't know how much. I knew that it was a substantial amount."

Kleppinger, who brought the wallet to the Solon police station, said returning the wallet was the right thing to do, as well as what God would want her to do.

"There are still honest people in this world," said Solon Lt. Bruce Felton.

Police returned the wallet to its rightful owner, a man who works in Solon. The man "regularly carries a lot of cash due to his occupation," Felton said.

Kleppinger's husband received a phone call from the wallet owner to say thank you and alert them that he had left a gift for them at the police station, a cash reward.

"It was very kind and thoughtful of him," the good Samaritan said, who would not disclose the amount of the award, which she said was "completely unnecessary."
