GASTONIA, N.C., Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Police in North Carolina said a man pulled over on a 1939 Ford farm tractor was charged with stealing the tractor and driving it while impaired.
Gaston County police said Johnny Wayne Mote Jr., 27, of Gastonia was pulled over at 10:47 p.m. Wednesday while driving the blue tractor on Lew Farm Road, the Gaston Gazette reported Thursday.
The owner of the tractor, Gary Lee Brackett, told police no one had received his permission to drive the tractor, which he valued at $15,000.
Police said Mote's blood-alcohol content was measured at 0.08, the point where police consider a driver impaired.
Mote was taken to the Gaston County Jail on charges of larceny and driving while impaired. His bond was set at $21,000.
