CHICAGO, Aug. 20 (UPI) -- An exotic dancer is suing her former boss for allegedly cheating her out of overtime she put in on stage at his Chicago-area clubs.

Argyro Roula Mains contends 63-year-old Michael Wellek improperly classified her and her colleagues as independent contractors rather than employees in order to skirt the rules on overtime pay.

She is seeking unpaid wages over the last five years, some of which she claimed were siphoned off her check by "unauthorized deductions" that cut her weekly rate below minimum wage.

Wellek's lawyer did not respond to a request for comment on the suit, the Chicago Tribune said Saturday. Wellek was also unavailable since he was in a federal prison in Duluth serving a year for tax fraud.
