Bieber gets his own Way

FORNEY, Texas, Aug. 16 (UPI) -- An 11-year-old girl acting as mayor for a day in a Texas town renamed a local street after Canadian teen pop sensation Justin Bieber.

Caroline Gonzales won an essay writing competition to act as mayor of Forney, Texas, for a day, Pegasus News of Dallas/Fort Worth reported.

Gonzales, who has served on her elementary school's student council for two years, made her first mayoral act Tuesday morning the renaming of her town's Main Street as "Justin Bieber Way."

City work crews followed through on their temporary boss' directive by putting up a street sign with the singer's name on the former Main Street at the closest point to City Hall.

The sign will only be on display for one day.
