CLARENCE, N.Y., Aug. 15 (UPI) -- A New York state nun who is celebrating her 105th birthday Monday said she credits her longevity to God.

Sister John Maron Abdella of the Sisters of St. Joseph Residence in Clarence said she does not believe diet or exercise have had much to do with her long life, The Buffalo News reported Monday.

"I say, 'God, it's your fault, not mine. I didn't do anything to keep alive,'" said Abdella, who does not use a hearing aid or eyeglasses.

Abdella, who a recent Retirement Fund for Religious poll indicated is the eighth oldest nun in the country, said she plans to celebrate Monday with family members who bring her Lebanese food from Ohio every year on her birthday.

"We will do that as long as she's here," said Elaine Cutrone, Abdella's great-niece.
