'South Park' snacks headed for Walmart

NEW YORK, July 20 (UPI) -- Comedy Central said it is celebrating the 15th season of "South Park" by selling Cheesy Poofs, and giving out free samples of the fictional snacks in San Diego.

The network said Walmart stores will be selling 1.5 million packs of Cheesy Poofs, a favorite snack of character Eric Cartman, beginning next month to commemorate the 15th season of Trey Parker and Matt Stone's hit animated series, The New York Times reported Tuesday.

Free samples of the $2.99 snacks, manufactured by the Frito-Lay division of PepsiCo, will be available at the "South Park" display at Comic-Con International in San Diego July 21-24. The display also includes a replica of the school cafeteria from "South Park" and a replica of the fictional town's South Park Avenue, Comedy Central said.
