DETROIT, July 6 (UPI) -- A Detroit evangelist and author announced the creation of "The Real Housewives of the Bible," a DVD series inspired by "outrageous reality shows."

Ty Adams said the two-part DVD series will be similar to the "outrageous reality shows" of Bravo's "The Real Housewives" series in that it will follow six women navigating the ups and downs of marriage, but it will appeal to a more wholesome audience, CNN reported Tuesday.

"I was frustrated with what I was seeing," Adams said. "A lot of society is looking towards programming to educate them on relationships and these shows haven't effectively done that.

"They have ruined and tainted our ability to secure good relationships and to make women into good wives," she said.

Adams said each of the six women will face hardships similar to those faced by women in the Bible, including infertility and infidelity.
