Steve Hoye, 57, put up the 4-foot-by-8-foot billboard last year, The Ledger, of Lakeland, Fla., reported Saturday. The sign also gives contact information for Florida Alimony Reform Inc., a group created to advocate for change of Florida state alimony laws. Advertisement Hoye says he pays $960 a month to his ex-wife in alimony, which is putting him into debt. His divorce, initialized by his wife, was finalized in 2007. He will be paying alimony permanently until he or his ex-wife dies. "The Florida court system has its hooks in me for the rest of my life, as long as my (ex-)wife is alive," said Hoye. The group claims men are unfairly strained with alimony payments, which are ordered by a court system that rewards ex-spouses for not working.
