"Why are you carrying a weasel?" the man asked the intruder.

"It's not a weasel. It's a marten," the suspect responded.

Police said the intruder then punched the man in the face and left, leaving the dead marten behind.

Investigators said they found the man arguing with his girlfriend later in the evening and placed him under arrest. Police said they do not know why the man was carrying the marten.
