Bear takes a dip in backyard spa

WEKIVA SPRINGS, Fla., June 10 (UPI) -- A Florida woman said she was surprised when a black bear pushed a hole through her screen and took a quick dip in her spa.

Jenny Sue Rhoades of Seminole County said she has seen bears in her yard before as she lives near Wekiva Springs state park, but the bear that showed up June 3 was the first to push through the screen around her pool area, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

Rhoades said the bear dipped his mouth into the spa before plunging his whole body in for a quick 2- or 3-minute soak.

"He had been in a pool or spa before, there's no doubt in my mind," she said.

She said wildlife officials told her not to repair the screen for at least a week in case the bear returns to damage it again.
