SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla., June 7 (UPI) -- A Florida woman said she wasn't surprised to see a bear in her back yard -- but she didn't expect it to take a dip in her pool.

Jenny Sue Rhoades was watching TV when she noticed a large black bear walking through the back yard of her southwest Seminole County home, the Orlando Sentinel reported Tuesday.

She was accustomed to seeing bears in her yard before, as she lives near Wekiva Springs State Park.

But this bear pressed his nose against the screen surrounding her pool, and then walked through it "like it was made of butter," she said.

The bear dipped in his mouth, then a paw, and finally jumped in, the newspaper reported.

"I think he was hot and thirsty. It looked like he knew what he was doing. He had been in a pool or spa before, there's no doubt in my mind," said Rhoades.

After a couple of minutes, Rhoades went out and banged on a table. The bear went out the way he came, she said.

She said wanted to scare away the bear as she didn't want him to become accustomed to using her pool, nor did she want him to leave behind "a package."

She hasn't repaired the screen, as wildlife officials said the bear may return and damage it again.

"They said if he is going to come back, it will probably be within a week," she said.

The bear hasn't returned, but squirrels are now going in and out of the hole in the screen, she said.
