Boss tries to avoid reporters with drag

RETFORD, England, May 30 (UPI) -- A British gas company director who admitted to a health and safety breach in court attempted to sneak past waiting reporters by donning women's clothes.

The Sun reported Martyn Crute, 48, of Retford, England, was fined $3,300 in Lincoln Crown Court and ordered to pay $67,500 in prosecution costs after admitting his company, UK Oil and Gas, failed to register with gas safety body Corgi for 15 months.

Crute, who was banned from serving as company director for seven years, donned women's clothing in the restroom after his court appearance and attempted to leave the courthouse unnoticed, The Sun said.

He left the building dressed in a striped top, black ankle-length skirt, stilettos and a long wig.
