GAINESVILLE, Fla., May 20 (UPI) -- A young Georgia man was arrested after he inadvertently called 911 while he was allegedly in the middle of a drug deal.

After an emergency dispatcher heard people on the line talking about a deal to sell prescription drugs, she remained on the line while a Hall County sheriff's deputy was dispatched to a Waffle House in South Hall, the source of the call, the Gainesville Times reported Wednesday.

Col. Jeff Strickland, a spokesman for the sheriff, said the deputy could not tell who had the phone or the drugs. But the dispatcher was able to guide him.

"The phone was in an employee's pocket," Strickland said. "As the deputy was talking to the employee, the dispatcher could hear the conversation between the deputy and the employee."

Daniel Moore, 18, was arrested. He apparently did not realize his phone had "pocket-dialed" the police.
