Fingerprint-recognizing phone released

BRISTOL, England, May 3 (UPI) -- A British cellphone service provider announced the release of a phone featuring fingerprint recognition technology "any aspiring spy would be proud of."

Service provider Orange, based in Bristol, England, said the Motorola Atrix is designed to recognize its owner's fingerprints and can be loaded with apps including a retinal scanner, a spy camera and a program designed to track numbers called from any phone, The Sun reported Tuesday.

"This really is the ultimate smartphone that any aspiring spy would be proud of," Orange spokeswoman Nicola Shenton said.
