"They didn't know the name on the package and thought it was delivered by mistake," police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said. "They left it on the porch thinking someone would pick it up. When no one did, they opened it and called police and we retrieved it."
Chitwood said the return address in Arizona turned out to be bogus.
"We checked through the feds and the address was fake," Chitwood said. "We see half a dozen of these types of deliveries a year and sometimes we're able to track down the sender. This was high-grade marijuana with a street value of $10,000."
