TALLAHASSEE, Fla., March 24 (UPI) -- Florida Gov. Rick Scott said he owns six pairs of cowboy boots, including an alligator skin pair stamped with "governor" in gold.

Scott, who wears boots every day, said he also owns a pair of black calf skin boots bearing the words "45th Governor" alongside the seal of Florida, a U.S. flag and the Florida flag, the St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times reported Thursday.

"They said the seal was really hard to do," Scott said.

"I'm a boot guy. That's all I wear," he said. "Not when I go to the beach though. I'll wear sandals. Or I go barefoot because it feels good."

Scott said his gubernatorial boots were created by Rocky Carroll, 73, owner of RJ's Model Boots in Houston. Carroll said he has created boots for every president from Jimmy Carter to George W. Bush. He said President Barack Obama will not be receiving a pair.

"He's giving our money away," Carroll said.
