Amherst County sheriff's deputies and Commonwealth Attorney Stephanie Maddox said the woman, who was at the Amherst County Courthouse Thursday morning for a Juvenile and Domestic Relations court hearing, was filling out paperwork in an office when she made a reference to being accompanied by her "daughter," The (Lynchburg) News & Advance reported Monday. "You couldn't make up something like this," Maddox said. The woman said the monkey is only 7 weeks old and requires constant attention. She said she bought the monkey on eBay. Deputies said the woman was allowed to go about her business at the courthouse and they did not say whether there was anything unlawful about her being accompanied by the tiny primate.
