FORT WORTH, Texas, March 11 (UPI) -- Texas police said a middle school choir student who took exception to her section being called "flat" ended up with a citation for disorderly conduct language.

Fort Worth police said the incident began Wednesday when students in the soprano section of the Meacham Middle School choir said the alto section sounded "flat," and one seventh-grade student responded by telling them to "shut the ... up" with a four-letter profanity, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Friday.

Police said the teacher warned the student about her language and she challenged him to "write me up" and continued using the word three more times.

The teacher told a school security initiative officer he wanted to press charges and the girl was issued a citation for disorderly conduct language.
