Thieves take $8,000 worth of iPads

FORT MYERS, Fla., March 5 (UPI) -- Florida authorities said they are trying to identify six people believed to have shoplifted $8,000 worth of iPads from a Walmart.

Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers released photos of the five men and one woman suspected of stealing the 13 iPads from the Fort Myers Walmart on Six Mile Cypress just before 6 a.m. Feb. 25, WZVN-TV, Fort Myers, reported Friday.

Investigators said the suspects arrived at the store in the same silver minivan but entered separately. They said one of the men managed to open the locked case containing the iPads and another man and the woman placed them in a cart. Police said they took the iPads to a nearby aisle where the five men concealed the tablet computers in their clothing.

Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers said the suspects were in the store for about 10 minutes.
