Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe HENDERSON, Nev., Feb. 24 (UPI) -- Nevada police said they caught up with a suspected burglar who climbed through plexiglass to the driver's seat of a patrol car and drove away. Henderson police spokesman Todd Rasmussen said the 19-year-old suspect was arrested about 8:30 a.m. by officers responding to a burglary and he was placed in handcuffs in the back of a patrol car, the Las Vegas Sun reported Thursday. Advertisement Rasmussen said the officer driving the vehicle took the suspect, whose name was not released, to retrieve personal property he claimed to have left behind at the scene of the burglary. The spokesman said the officer got out of the car to speak with another officer and the suspect quickly managed to move his handcuffed arms to the front of his body and climb through a narrow opening in the plexiglass divider to the front seat of the vehicle. Police said the suspect drove the car about 2 1/2 miles and abandoned the vehicle. However, officers set up a perimeter and caught him in a residential area. Rasmussen said the man is facing charges of burglary, escape and grand larceny auto. Advertisement
