CareerBuilder.com said managers questioned in an online survey of 2,482 U.S. employers, conducted Nov. 15 to Dec. 2 of last year, said the most unusual excuses they heard for worker tardiness included a man who said he would be two hours late for work because his car was infested with bees and a woman who said she was late because her karma was out of synch. Advertisement Other excuses shared by the managers included a worker who produced a note about public transportation difficulties signed "The Bus Driver," a woman who said she was attacked by her cat, a man who said his Botox appointment ran late, a man who said he was injured while removing a fork from the dishwasher and a worker who claimed he was on time but the company clock was wrong. However, CareerBuilder said the most common excuses were traffic problems, sleep issues, bad weather and issues transporting their children.
