WINNETKA, Ill., Feb. 17 (UPI) -- An Illinois author said she has reached number 37 on her yearlong quest to meet each of her 330 Facebook friends in person.

ArLynn Leiber Presser of Winnetka said her "Face to Facebook" project, which includes filming and blogging about her experiences, was born out of her New Year's resolution to meet each of her Facebook friends in person, the Winnetka-Glencoe (Ill.) Patch reported Thursday.

"I initially joined Facebook to keep tabs on my sons Eastman and Joseph," Presser said. "Since then I've made more than 300 connections, and I realized that I don't know many of them or, in some cases, how I wound up connected to them. That's one of the things I'm going to explore with this project."

Presser said she has reached number 37 on her list, which will soon take her to diverse locations including Alaska, Mexico, Turkey, India and South Korea.

"One thing I've learned so far is that people are nicer to me than I realize," Presser said. "I lost my wallet in January, and my friend Janet's response was very unselfish."

Presser is documenting the progress of her project on her blog, http://arlynnpresser.wordpress.com.
