JOLIET, Ill., Jan. 26 (UPI) -- Authorities in Illinois said a man who reported a burglary was arrested on an outstanding warrant and found to be carrying a bag of marijuana.

Will County Sheriff's deputies said Jordan Dingillo, 19, called to report a burglary at 2:45 p.m. Sunday in Lockport Township and the suspect was gone by the time deputies arrived, the Joliet (Ill.) Herald-News reported Wednesday.

"However the deputies checked Jordan A. Dingillo, 19, who had made the report and learned he had an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in DuPage County," sheriff's spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer said.

Hoffmeyer said Dingillo told deputies he was not carrying anything illegal and he was taken into custody.

"As he was being booked, correctional officers removed a blue 2-inch 'hitter' pipe in his sock and a bag of cannabis from his other sock," Hoffmeyer said.

She said Dingillo told deputies he "didn't remember" the objects were in his socks. He was charged with bringing contraband into a penal institution and possession of drug paraphernalia.
