MELBOURNE, Fla., Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Police in Florida said a suspect in a string of vehicle burglaries stripped naked and attempted to hide from officers in a canal.

The Melbourne Police Department said they received a call from a witness at about 3 a.m. Wednesday reporting three men were trying car doors in the area to find unlocked vehicles, Florida Today reported Friday.

Investigators said two of the men were quickly arrested but the third fled into Andretti Thrill Park where officers said he took off all his clothes and jumped into a canal.

Police said they found the suspect, identified as Miguel Camorlinga, 19, using an infrared camera.

"He was lying in the water with nothing showing but his face," police Lt. Tim Turner said. "He was trying to pull a Rambo."

Camorlinga, who officers said was "completely naked," was arrested and charged with two counts of vehicle burglary, petit larceny and resisting arrest.
