ARLINGTON, Va., Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Authorities in Northern Virginia said an airport shuttle driver who hit at least six other vehicles said he "did it to be famous."

Virginia State Police, Arlington County, Va., police and Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority police said Muhammad Teshale, 25, drove his SuperShuttle van at speeds of 90 to 95 mph on 55 mph roads and struck at least six other vehicles Monday morning between Arlington, Va., and Dulles International Airport, The Washington Post reported Tuesday.

Teshale was arrested at the airport's main terminal and charged with one count of hit and run with other charges pending. Authorities said the driver told arresting police he "did it to be famous."

Investigators said they do not know if there were any passengers in the van during the drive. They said Teshale was alone in the vehicle at the time of his arrest.
