Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe MOSCOW, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Police in Moscow said they arrested a base jumper who plunged from a 35-story hotel Thursday but was stopped when his parachute became stuck on a billboard. Oleg Medenko, 32, who claims to have completed more than 40 base jumps from skyscrapers in Moscow, was arrested after becoming stuck on a billboard during his stunt, which began atop the Central Tourist's House, RIA Novosti reported. Advertisement "This jump was illegal since it was not approved by the hotel and local authorities or with rescuers," police said. The jumper was rescued and police said he was arrested and may face a charge of hooliganism.
