WASHINGTON, Dec. 1 (UPI) -- A U.S. telephone survey suggests 60 percent of the country's households plan on decorating their homes for the holidays but only 22 percent have finished.

The Rasmussen Reports survey of 1,000 adults, conducted Nov. 28-29, found 60 percent of respondents plan to decorate their homes while 34 percent have no decoration aspirations.

The survey suggests only 22 percent of households have finished decorating while 51 percent said they have at least started the process.

Rasmussen said the survey suggests a gender gap in preparedness, with 55 percent of women who plan to decorate getting started compared to 48 percent of men.

The survey had a 3 percent margin of error with a 95 percent level of confidence.
