Angela Sheppard, 29, of Wesley Chapel, Fla., said she began looking for new mates for the three female turkeys after the death of their previous male five months ago and turned to Craigslist to find unwanted turkeys, the St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times reported Thursday. Advertisement Sheppard said she was soon in contact with Orlando Valdez, a man who had recently bought a Dade City, Fla., farm and was looking to get rid of two male turkeys, one injured by an encounter with a canine. The turkey owner said the uninjured turkey's introductions went well with the three females and the other turkey will be introduced once his neck wound has healed. "It's not so much the damage, it's the infection," she said.
