State Treasurer Michael Fitzgerald's office said the Storm Lake man, whose name was not released, is owed $1,632,427 in cash and $446,874 in stocks he failed to collect from various sources through the years, the Des Moines (Iowa) Register reported Monday. Advertisement Fitzgerald said $910,000 of the money is from a single unclaimed payment from the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Co. "We have made overtures to him," Fitzgerald said. "And we've had plenty of feedback from people in Storm Lake. He knows the money is there. It appears to be a situation of him not wanting to be bothered."
