ROYAL OAK, Mich., Sept. 21 (UPI) -- Police in suburban Detroit said they issued a citation to a man who allegedly urinated on a police station before going inside to file a report.

Lt. Gordon Young of the Royal Oak Police said witnesses spotted the man, whose name was not released, urinating on the building at 4:39 p.m. Sept. 13 and he was cited after he "entered the station in an attempt to file a police report on an undisclosed matter," the Detroit Free Press reported Tuesday.

Deputy City Attorney Mark Liss said the man could face a maximum fine of $500 and up to 90 days in jail for public urination, but the prosecutor said the suspect is unlikely to face jail time.
