ATHENS, Ga., Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Police in Georgia said a man hit a father and his 3-year-old son with his car because they refused to move out of a parking space.

Athens-Clarke County police spokeswoman Hilda Sorrow said Richard Junkins of Athens pulled up to the parking spot Sunday in a Ford Mustang and argued with Ross Campbell, of Statham, who was standing in the parking spot with his 3-year-old son, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Monday.

"Campbell refused to move and Junkins, after an exchange of words, continued pulling in the space," Sorrow said.

Sorrow said Campbell and his son were both struck by the vehicle, causing them to land on the hood of the car. The man and boy were not injured, she said.

Junkins was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and released after posting $22,020 bond.
