ANAHEIM, Calif., Sept. 13 (UPI) -- About a dozen members of a California church pledged to get tattoos of the church's logo as part of the congregation's one-year anniversary.

Kyle Steven Bonenberger, 26, lead pastor of Anaheim's City Church, announced he would receive a tattoo if 200 people showed up to Sunday's service, twice the usual number of congregants, the Orange County (Calif.) Register reported Monday.

Bonenberger received his tattoo when the 200th person arrived Sunday at the Chain Reaction Club, the punk rock club where the church meets, and about a dozen members of his congregation pledged to follow suit.

"I love the tattoo. I love these people. I'm stoked. They're in my heart," Bonenberger said.

"We call ourself the church for the people who don't like church," the pastor said. "It's the furthest thing from what people perceive church to be."
