NEW YORK, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- A New York hot dog and coffee vendor engaged in a legal battle with a hospital about the location of his cart woke up in the same hospital after collapsing.
Waleed Ramadan, 37, said he woke up in the Queens Hospital Center after passing out Wednesday while talking to a reporter about his lawsuit against the facility, the New York Daily News reported Friday.
"I blacked out and I just woke up in the emergency room," he said. "I don't feel comfortable being here."
Ramadan's lawsuit seeks to stop the hospital from forcing him to give up the sidewalk spot his cart has occupied for six years.
Doctors at Queens Hospital Center said they did not know why Ramadan, an Egyptian immigrant, collapsed and they were performing tests.
Ramadan said his cart is being run by a cousin, Houssaine Bouzarouata, 41, while he is in the hospital.
