Police: Suspect hid heroin in buttocks

HARTFORD, Conn., July 12 (UPI) -- Police in Connecticut said one of three people arrested on drug charges during a traffic stop had seven bags of heroin concealed in his buttocks.

Investigators said James Hatfield, 26, of Waterford, was pulled over at about 6:45 p.m. July 6 and charged with failure to wear a seatbelt, operating with a suspended license, failure to properly display plates and possession of drug paraphernalia, The Hartford (Conn.) Courant reported Monday.

Police said they discovered passengers William Hindman, 23, of Niantic, and Kathryn McManus, 22, of East Lyme, were in possession of heroin, with McManus holding one bag and Hindman concealing seven bags in his buttocks.

Authorities said all three suspects are scheduled to appear Thursday in Hartford Superior Court.
