DEARBORN, Mich., May 23 (UPI) -- A Michigan barber who lost his wallet after driving off with it on the roof of his car says it was returned -- by a man whose hair he often cut.
Michael Mikulonis of Dearborn inadvertently left the wallet on the roof on his car as he drove his wife Mary Beth to a dress fitting, and did not realize it was missing until the couple arrived home, The Detroit News reported Sunday.
Thinking it might have slipped under the seat, Mikulonis asked Mary Beth to go in the house to get a flashlight. She returned with a cordless phone instead, with a call from someone who had found the wallet in the middle of a local street.
The man had looked at the driver's license in the wallet and said to himself, "Hey, that's my barber!"
Fifteen minutes later he was at Mikulonis' house with the wallet. The barber thanked him and the man drove off, the newspaper said.
Mikulonis says he only knows the man as Steve, about 50, dark hair and beard, likes a businessman's cut.
He hasn't been to the barbershop since that night, Mikulonis said, but when he does, there's a gift certificate to a local restaurant waiting for him. And yes, the haircut will be on the house.
